This year marks the twentieth anniversary of the close relationship between Sister Cities Paris and Chicago, and in commemoration of this enduring bond, the Champs Élysées Film Festival in Paris will be honoring the Chicago International Film Festival (CIFF) during this year's festivities. Throughout the 2016 Champs Élysées Film Festival, which runs from Tuesday, June 7th, to Tuesday, June 14th, four selections connected to last year's Chicago International Film Festival will be screened.

Chicago-based filmmakers Malik Bader ("Cash Only") and Patrick Underwood ("The Middle Distance") will have their work showcased alongside that of Erik Shirai ("The Birth of Saké") and Andrew Davis ("The Fugitive"). It was Davis who served as the head of last year's CIFF jury, which awarded its top prize to Philippe Claudel's French drama, "A Childhood." Davis will be attending this year's Champs Élysées Film Festival as a guest of honor, while Underwood and festival programmer Anthony Kaufman are also scheduled to attend. Michael Kutza founded CIFF in 1964, and it has become renowned as the longest-running competitive film festival in North America.
