            • Generally, upgrading your iPhone or any other iOS device to a latest or new version of the operating system, or restoring it from backup, is a quiet downy process. While upgrading iPhone, iTunes, & iTunes, some users are reporting the error code 3194. Nevertheless, it’s a very common error which occurs when iTunes can’t connect to the Apple’s software update servers that are used to activate the iOS when restoring or upgrading.

Causes of Error Code 3194 on iPhone, iPad, & iTunes

If you run into the error code 3194 within iTunes whenever you are trying to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can temporarily block the Apple’s firmware signing services. Usually, error3194 seems to be caused when unsigned or expired firmware is used, frequently during an iOS downgrade or upgrade or even during the time of restores.

However, the Activation server plays a significant role, so not being able to contact them indicate that your iPhone cannot restore or upgrade. This might occurs when there is something wrong with the iOS on the device Or either the iOS has been customized by the jailbreaking or if the version of the iOS is expired, out of date, or no longer supported.

Steps to Fix Error Code 3194 on iPhone, iPad, & iTunes

Before going further, we suggest you follow the below-given instruction in an exact sequence to avoid trouble and damages. Here how to fix it:

              Change your Host Files

To fix this error code 3194, you need to edit your host’s file. Though, this is quite complicated but will work. This error 3194 happens when the Apple servers can’t be contacted. Therefore, the host file is related to how your computer accesses the Internet. Moreover, it is possible that a misconfiguration in the file could be causing the problem and editing the file could fix it. Here how to do it:

              1. Firstly, quit the iTunes.
              2. Then, click to launch your host’s file.
              3. Click to Open “Terminal” program, type “sudonano/private/etc/hosts.”
              4. After that, click on the “Next” tab.
              5. If prompted, type your password to log into it and Press Enter.
              6. Now, search the host file entry for gs.apple.com.
              7. Note: If the gs.apple.com doesn’t appear on your screen, then the host file is not creating any problem.
              8. Click to “Add #” and then press the “Space” key at the beginning of the gs.apple.com line.
              9. After that, click to “Save” the file.
              10. Then, click to close all file or the Terminal program.
              11. Lastly, restart your computer system.
              12. Finally, try restoring or updating your iOS device again.
